A one off concert to celebrate the legacy of some of our great heroes ,William Cooper and Nicholas WINTON
A concert of multi faith and shared values transcending language religion and borders. Featuring incredible talent from diverse regions of the world, including, choirs, dancers, drummers and amazing soloists, Fem Belling, Warren Wills, Kelly Auty m Sarah MacLaine and many others.
All profits will go towards sending a representation to honour the work of minorities in the ANZAC conflicts, and promote the role of Indigenous, Jewish and others’ extraordinary contribution to Australian history and culture.
In a current climate, especially for youth, of disengagement and when there is no shortage of “villains”, a musical ,theatrical celebration of heroes, life-affirmation and positive humanist values.
Warren Wills has spent 15 years in North London in Haringey, plus Hackney, and latterly Shepparton doing trans-formative work
With youth from disparate backgrounds, to create socially inclusive music theatre. This event further develops this work and these themes in challenging times.
WHAT ITS ABOUT
1.. To honour the work and memory of NICHOLAS WINTON. The role he played in saving refugees.
2.. To highlight the fact that the need for his work continues in the light of the current worldwide refugee crisis and the present divisive nature it has taken.
3.. To celebrate the uniqueness and unity of all peoples, with the spotlight on new immigrants in a time of growing impatience, anger, racism etc
4.. Look at lessons of patience and universal compassion as exemplified by the likes of Nicholas Winton and William Cooper in oz, to recognize the plight of the oppressed and the need for universal tolerance and support.
5.. To acknowledge if we do not continue, and support, the legacy of Nicholas Winton, then we are betraying the work he has done.
