On October 21/22 Warren Wills will building a musical bridge across the Mediterranean. This unique concert will bridge two of the oldest, unique and new most enduring communities in Melbourne, the Jewish and Greek
Together with singers/percussionist and a bouzouki player, and working with a multi-media visual format I will be presenting a “mezze” of musical delights
The Hellenic Museum in all its splendor is the location for this event.
The show will be in the courtyard and follows hard on the heels of the photographic exhibition currently showing at the Jewish Museum.
There has long been a crossover tradition in Israeli and Greek culture. Such celebrated Israeli Greek composer/performers include; Yossi Aharon, Yehuda poliker and Aris San.
Israelis love Greek music. They mostly know of singers such as George Dalaras, Haris Alexiou, Glykeria, Protopsalti, Arvanitaki, Galani, Arleta, Spanoudakis, Papaconstantinou and the of course Hatzigiannis who represents the younger generation.
